This data is used only to verify your purchase and unlock appropriate features.
6. Backup & Restore – Google Drive
Pay Flix Subscription Manager allows you to backup and restore your data using Google Drive:
-
When you enable backup, the app:
-
Requests your permission to access a dedicated application folder in your Google Drive (using OAuth via Google APIs).
-
Uploads a backup file (e.g.,
subscriptions_backup.json) containing your app data (subscription records, settings, Pro status info, etc.).
-
-
Restoring backups:
-
The app reads this backup file from your Google Drive to restore your subscriptions and settings.
-
Important:
-
Your backup is stored under your own Google account in a private app folder.
-
We do not have direct access to your Google Drive files outside of what you authorize through the app’s Google API permissions.
-
You can revoke the app’s access at any time via your Google account settings.
7. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) – Optional
If enabled, Pay Flix Subscription Manager can use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to receive push notifications (e.g., updates, tips, feature announcements):
-
FCM may collect basic device identifiers and instance tokens to deliver messages.
-
We do not use FCM to send sensitive personal data.
-
You can disable such notifications via app settings or system notification settings.
8. Permissions Used by the App
Depending on your device and Android version, the app may request permissions such as:
-
Notification permissions – To show billing reminders, alerts, and other notifications.
-
Exact alarm / schedule permissions – To schedule accurate billing reminders and fallback/rescheduled alarms.
-
Network/Internet access – To show ads, perform in-app purchases, sync backup/restore with Google Drive, and check updates.
We only request permissions that are necessary for the features you use. You can manage or revoke these permissions from your device settings, but doing so may limit some app functionality (e.g., no reminders if notifications are disabled).
9. Data Retention
We retain your information as follows:
-
On your device:
-
Subscription data and settings remain on your device until you delete them from within the app or uninstall the app.
-
-
In your Google Drive (backup):
-
Backups remain in your Google Drive until you delete them manually or disable backup and remove the backup files.
-
-
Billing & Pro status:
-
Purchase tokens and entitlement status are retained as long as necessary to provide Pro access and comply with Google Play requirements.
-
We do not maintain separate server-side copies of your subscription data outside of the mechanisms described above (e.g., Google Drive backup that you control).
